It's been a busy week ...and it's only Wednesday!!! I've had both my longarms up and running the last few days.

The first quilt is a beautiful queen size star quilt made by my client Joanie. I used the "creeping fig" edge to edge pantograph and a dove grey thread. It's being sent home to North Vancouver tomorrow.

The second quilt is a super soft flannel that's been custom quilted and has a wool batting for added texture. Someone's really going to enjoy cuddling with this quilt ❤

It's been a busy week ...and it's only Wednesday!!! I've had both my longarms up and running the last few days.

I'm making new Christmas stockings for myself and my husband and I thought how cool would it be to make a piece of quilted whole cloth and use that to make the stockings. Brilliant!! The fabric is from the Canvas line by @northcottfabric I'm using gold Glide thread and the quilting pattern is called Sea of Stars from @my_creative_stitches

I was recently asked to quilt a memorial quilt that had been made by a group of ladies to give to a woman in their group whos husband had passed. There were nine different heart blocks in the quilt so I decided to dust off my free motion quilting skills and quilt each block with a different pattern. I know I took pictures of each block but for some reason I'm only able to find seven pictures. My apologies to those whos blocks I've missed. I really loved the opportunity to let my free motion creativity flow ❤

I love how fabrics you would never put side by side in a traditional quilt just seem to work together in a scrappy. This quilt that Bonnie B. has created has inspired me to grab all those left over strips I've been saving and create a scrappy quilt of my own!

Making an old quilt new again. My client bought this quilt twenty years ago, before she got married. Her and her husband have recently bought a king size bed and this little twin size quilt no longer fit. But she loves this quilt so her mother-in-law offered to make it bigger. They took out all the hand quilting, took the rows of blocks apart, added sashing and a whole bunch of borders and now it's a king!! The ultimate upcycle!!

I've quilted it with an edge to edge pantograph called "Deja Vu" from @urban.elementz She also asked that I hand sew on the binding so I'll be spending the next few nights working on that. Fun fun!!

I know it's been awhile since I've shared anything but I didn't realize just how long it's been. Sometimes life just gets so busy that you lose track of time. Maybe it's time to slow down a little.

Here's a quilt I've been working on off and on for the last 3 or 4 years. It started as an attempt to use up my scraps but as most quilters know scraps multiple while you're sleeping so you're never able to use them all!

The blocks are put together with a combination of machine and hand sewing. I ended up with 12 - 24" blocks which I've now sewn together. I plan on adding a couple of borders and then I'll custom quilt it. Hopefully that will happen sometime in the next year...lol.

Almost at the finish line! Once I get the binding sewn on I can spend the rest of the evening hand stitching it to the back. I don't know about you but I find this part so relaxing. It's nice seeing another project almost at completion.

The top is one I made using a block pattern by Lorraine Mooney. Tianna quilted it with an edge to edge pantograph called "Daisy Dots". This quilt is a charity quilt and it will eventually find its way to a local women's transition house.

Yesterday was a double header! One quilt in the morning and another in the afternoon. Both of these batik quilts were made by Anna and are being gifted to some very special people in her life. I love how the colour pops against the black background on the second quilt. They are both quilted with edge to edge pantographs. Anna picked Deja Vu with gray thread for the light coloured quilt and Feather Flip with purple thread for the second one. Great choices Anna!
